Ms. Christina
Ms. Christina has spent the past six years teaching and inspiring young learners across New York City. She began her career teaching second grade at a small Catholic school in Queens, later supporting first graders as an associate teacher in a progressive independent school. She then joined the NYC Department of Education as a third‑grade special education teacher, where she found her passion for helping children grow into confident, joyful readers and writers.
Christina holds a Bachelor’s degree in Childhood Education from Manhattan College, a Master’s degree in Literacy from Hunter College, and an advanced certificate in Special Education from Hunter College. Her strong academic background and hands‑on classroom experience allow her to meet each child exactly where they are and help them thrive.
A true literacy lover, Christina believes that strong English language foundations—especially phonics—open the door to the magic of reading. She is committed to making phonics fun, engaging, and meaningful so children see reading as an adventure, not a chore. She also encourages young writers to use their voices boldly, helping them discover that writing is a powerful way to share their ideas, stories, and imagination with the world.
Families describe Christina as warm, easy‑going, and wonderfully energetic. As an extroverted and compassionate New Yorker, she brings enthusiasm, patience, and genuine care to every lesson. She is proud to support children on their learning journeys and excited to continue nurturing the next generation of readers and thinkers.
